HIDDEN ACRES CHRISTIAN CENTER
CABIN AND ROOMING POLICIES
In accordance with our Statement of Faith and Addendum, Hidden Acres holds to the following cabin assignment/rooming policies.

GRADE AND SEX/GENDER
We believe campers should be in cabins with other campers at the same grade level (or as close as possible) in a cabin or group. We’ve found it is easier to build group unity with campers who are in a similar life stage. We also only put campers of the same biological sex at birth in cabins together since campers share cabin space. Counselors for each cabin are also the same biological sex at birth as their campers.

SEXUAL IDENTITY
Due to our overnight camp setting, Hidden Acres has constraints when assigning housing for campers with gender identity concerns. As set forth in our Statement of Faith, we believe that in God’s creation sex and gender are synonymous, and that they are determined by an individual’s biological sex at birth. In any cabin there are many campers whose comfort and safety need to be considered. Taking all of this into account, we will continue to house our campers and ask guests to use restrooms based on biological sex at birth.* {*Exceptions are made during our family camp events where individuals in the same family will room together or in the case of a young child entering a restroom with his/her parent for assistance. Family restrooms do also exist for these needs.}
COUPLES
As dictated by Addendum A of the Hidden Acres Statement of Faith, Hidden Acres will follow a room assignment policy that only married couples (one biological male, one biological female) will be assigned to private rooms. Unmarried dating couples will be accommodated with other members of their families in shared lodging but will not be accommodated in private rooms (Schlichting Inn, Johnson Lodge, Lodge139A). This policy is designed to uphold the values and standards of our establishment while respecting the privacy and comfort of all guests

We are grateful for our many camper families and for the trust they give us in caring for their children. We also understand that any written statements about this topic can be complicated. We highly encourage parents with questions to contact a camp director to process any concerns.
